Currents and Waves

Instrument Type: InterOcean Systems S4-DW Current and Wave Sensor

Description: The S4 measures direction and magnitude of horizontal current motion. Water flowing through an electromagnetic field created by the instrument produces a measurable voltage proportional to water velocity. Waves and tides are measured using a semiconductor strain gauge.
